I think that it's safe to say that any solution that cannot be forced on the provider's end is not going to be a good solution. No way can any company allow access to their users' personal data with the *hope* that everyone with a text editor and a copy of the oAuth libraries is going to voluntarily write bug-free implementations of a workaround.
