If any part of the bridge is not cyclable then it is legally acceptable to
use the part that is cyclable regardless of signage.

There was/is no prohibition southbound. Last year it was better to cycle on
the new section southbound than to cross over from the west sidewalk to use
the narrow east sidewalk. I recall there was an unenforceable
"walk-your-bike" sign or some such on that part. By riding on the road I
avoided having to cross again (over or under) to get back to the southbound
side of Island Park Drive.
