I was up there when I was about 8 years old with my dad, (we drove up ) and it was
pretty cold at the summit....
I climbed Mt. M�gantic (near Sherbrooke, Quebec ) two times now... about 1100 meters
high.... but I know there is no comparison... I'm looking forward to something
harder...!! will probably give it a try in 2002... not enough training prep for this
year....
Tyler Hamilton did it in 50.21 in 1999.... mmmm interesting !

I rode this maybe 10 times between 1976 - 1992. Can be gorgeous when the
weather is clear and warm, horrifying when cold & cloudy. I think each time
I rode it, I couldn't believe it could be so steep.
Winds are frequently > 80kph. First year I rode, the temperature at base
was 68 farenheit - at the top with the wind chill, -5! Last couple of
times, it was so clear, you could see Whiteface Mt in the west and the
Atlantic Ocean to the southeast.
Go for the weekend and stay in North Conway. It's a great ride.
