I agree that survivors of serious accidents are likely to exaggerate the
contribution of their helmet. It is human nature. But, I also think that no
one ever looked at their smashed helmet and thought, I could have taken that
hit. Why did I bother with the helmet?
I also don't think that helmets are a minefield. There are about a dozen
people in the club, maybe two dozen, who don't like them and everyone else
just wears one.
