Seven Cyclist all regular Tuesday night riders showed for a short Tuesday night tour of 43 km's. Last week we did the Rockcliffe Parkway Using Echo And Sussex Drive to get there and returned using Anderson and Ridge Road. Total was 42.3 km's. This week trying for a shorter route I went up Alta Vista Dr, Terminal Ave, Belfast Rd, Coventry Rd, Ogilvie Rd, Bathgate Rd, and through the Rockcliffe Base to the Rockcliffe Pkwy. Reason was to find a interesting route for the start and end of the season were we do not end up returning to Billings Bridge in the dark. Well we got away right at 5:30 PM and three were off with the fast group while four remained back. There really is not much difference between the fast and slow groups except the slow is a little slower going up hills and we arrived back only a few minutes apart. However it turned out that by cutting the corner of the route it turned out to be a little longer than shorter and yes we returned back in the dark but not by much. as it is dark by 7:30 now. "Sir James" will not be having a Tuesday night social this year due to the fact that his wife June is not feeling well and is expected to have a major operation this fall. June is fine just feeling a little uncomfortable and worried. I will be making the last Tuesday Night Tour 25 th September a Short one and plan to stop for a quick one at Baxter's or Buffalo Charlie's before returning home.
