I am pleased to report that I took your advice today Ron - I road to Ashton. I was deprived of a ride last weekend so I was just a little bit torqued. I feel much better now. Nothing like a bike ride to blow off some steam.
Somewhere past Stittsville on Fallowfield, a rather attractive lady driving a Jaguar called out her window asking if I was from around here. I replied, not too far. Alas! A damsel in distress, I thought....what would the intrepid Sir James do in this situation....? She needed directions and said her cell phone was not working. I allowed her to use mine but she didn't get an answer. After chatting, I discovered that she had gotten "Carters Corners" mixed up with "Stanleys Corners". I explained how to get to her destination and she thanked me for my help. I declared "my work is done here" and departed on my bike into the sunset. A few dozen feet down the road, I heard the neighing of a horse. I thought, geez, perhaps I'm letting this escapism thing get out of hand. I looked up to see two horses staring at me as I passed.
