Kind of a contradiction here in what Ross wants (ride paths to parks)
and what Cyclemom seems to desire (parkway rides are no good, and I
think she means the sunday closed-parkway program)

All I can say is if, in the latter case, assuming Cyclemom wants family
rides on the open roads like an OBC ride, then the level of group
discipline and skill must be enforced at least to the same degree as the
regular club sunday rides for the single males and unaccompanied
husbands. (No wonder I'm not meeting anybody...didn't know that was the
case. hmmmm.)

Some will argue that OBC male-sunday ride discipline is in the toilet,
so my statement on enforcing similar discipline isn't saying much, but
that's another coversation. However, judging from the discipline
practiced by private family rides on say, closed parkways in gatineau
park on Sundays, I could only hope the OBC family rides would be an
example of something much better controlled. Can your pre-teens be
expected to do so? I think Cyclemom is saying it's needed. Will it
become so? I hope so, or we face more abuse from drivers/politicians
(recall RLCT comments from kingston counsellors), and accidents.

I don't know anything about it, being well-entrenched in that category
for which the club rides are apparently designed.

Paul.
