A really good idea which has been tried by me (and others I think) before,
mostly for teens. It was not overly successful in my case.
The idea has great potential and, since we offer a family membership rate,
why not include the youngsters too.
Cyclemom, why not consider starting up such a group in the OBC for younger
children and their parents. You may have to change the day to, say, the odd
Saturday, so the parents could still have a day to do a good ride.

Hasanyone heard on the news today just how unfit
many kids are these days.

I have often thought how great it would be to have the
occassional family ride. Easier pace, although
tandems may be faster. Destination for ride --more
family focused.

Unfortunately, I find the vast majority of Bicycle Clubs
tend to be demographically leaning towards the single
guy or married guy sans gal.

It would just be an alternative to the crazy rides through
the parkways. Not an example of great cycling skills
there.

Anyway, it is just an idea. There may not be enough
interest or resources to do something of this kind.

 Cheers,

Cyclemom
