Hash: SHA1 Thinking of North Carolina, I removed the axel from
my rear wheel
today to re-grease the bearings. I found that the threads on the axel where the cassette covers it appeared worn down more than the rest of the axel. I do not recall seeing this condition before. Is this normal, or should I replace the axel? If this is not normal, what caused it? Did I tighten the cones too much? Thanks.
