Note the spin, not "cyclist critically injured by enraged
driver". Sigh
Not for the squeamish, folks.
DRIVER DIES IN COLLISION WITH BICYCLIST
On April 3, 2002, at 7:41 p.m., Portland Police responded to a fatal accident on the Fremont Bridge. The deceased has been identified as 21- year-old Peter Bartel of Warren, Oregon. Injured at the scene, and transported to Emanual Hospital in very serious condition, was 38-year-old Innocent Francois of Portland, Oregon. Investigators learned from witnesses that Bartel was Westbound on the bridge and had been following another vehicle at an extremely close distance when he accelerated into the right side safety lane to pass a vehicle. Bartel hit a concrete barrier and spun out of control striking Francois who was riding a bicyle across the bridge. The impact caused a portion of Francois' body to fly through the windshield of Bartel's vehicle killing Bartel. Francoiss body then continued over Bartel's vehicle. Based on witness statements, investigators believe that aggressive driving or 'road rage' played a role in this accident. ------ Club Office: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (613) 230-1064 Web/mailing list: [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.cyberus.ca/~obcweb Newsletter: [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.cyberus.ca/~obcweb/Newsletter ==^================================================================ This email was sent to: [email protected] EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?aVxiDo.a2i8p1 Or send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] T O P I C A -- Register now to manage your mail! http://www.topica.com/partner/tag02/register ==^================================================================ |
