Go north on Sussex Dr (runs parallel to Mackenzie Ave which is where Harry's rentabike
is), past the
trendy shops, past the National Gallery, Notre Dame cathedral, external affairs,
National Research
Council, old city hall, French Embassy, prime minister's residence, governor general's
residence,
Rockcliffe Park.

Sussex turns into Rockcliffe Parkway and continues out along the Ottawa River past the
Aviation
museum and on another 8km or so to Montreal Rd. There is some question in my mind
whether the
parkway name changes to Eastern Parkway or remains Rockcliffe Parkway, but it's the
same road all
the way and you can't get lost.

>From where you're staying near Bronson & Albert, it's less than 40km return and a

cyclists.

Some detours through Rockcliffe Village and New Edinburgh would also be well worth the
extra few
kms. See Mike Cowpland's marvelous mansion, etc.

Cowpland is on Soper Place. There are some really lovely homes in this area including
one of my
favorites on Alexander St just opposite Rideau Falls Park near the French Embassy.

I can send you maps if you want. They'll be JPGs and possibly bigger than you or
others would like
in this general reply.
