Further to these two rides mentioned by Bob, there are many other 
excellent starting points requiring remote starts.  The simple solution 
to this 'problem' is to:
1) Get to know some people who can let you know where these routes are 
located.
2) Arrange a group of people to meet out at the chosen remote spot and go 
for a ride.
It doesn't have to be an "official" club ride.  My friends and I have 
arranged some of these tours for years and occasionally get up to a dozen 
or so riders.  You can even advertise it in the Spokesperson if you wish 
to open it up to all.
