A further caution for the parkway ... Two years ago I did my first ride in the park in April sometime, and the roads were mostly clear ... except under the Kingsmere Rd. bridge, at the bottom of the hill just before Penguin ... whose underpass I was approaching at about 65kph. There was a shadow under the bridge of course, so I couldn't see the 2-3ft of snow/ice that hadn't yet melted, also on account of said shadow. The ONLY person I saw in the park the whole day was a runner who was heading up the hill at the same time I was screaming down ... he was able to yell and warn me. I shudder to think of how bad I would have wrecked.
And if that runner is out there reading this list ... thank you.
