Hello fellow cyclists:

Remember that we are all volunteers and if someone like myself steps forward
and offers to lead a group, it lets others "off the hook", so to speak. I'm
not very good at map-reading but I can follow map directions which is what I
use. Sometimes we do stop for a map check and others will give an
opinion/advise as to direction. K.R. makes it sound like we're all a bunch
of unruly riders who rebel against the tour leader! If anyone in my group
sets the pace too high and refuses to slow down to the advertised average
speed for that group, then I would be tempted, after telling them that they
are obviously in the wrong speed group, to let them go ahead at their own
speed apart from the rest of the pack. Fortunately for me, I have had only
good experiences with groups I have led. Incidents like this should also be
reported to the touring director.

Re: Boring club rides. Over the years, many members have given of their
time to research new riding routes. If K.R. doesn't like the rides planned
for each Sunday, then why not do some research him/her-self and find some
more enjoyable routes?
