I mentioned before, we still sells our tour maps but they are not 
commercial quality  - they don't need to be.

I'm not sure if you mean OBC tour maps. Maps to be useful to tour 
leaders (specially new ones) must facilitate rapid identification of the 
names or numbers of the streets and roads we use. The ones I have from 
that era are scale 1:250,000, cover a very wide area, and because of 
that are necessarily cluttered. They are to be studied rather than read. 
(Some of us like to scan maps while in motion.)  

Then there were (are?) the Ontario Cycling Route map series - seven of 
them. They were published by the Ontario Cycling Association. The 
involvement of Les Humphreys and Bruce Timmermanns is acknowledged on 
them. The OCA maps were good in 1983 but were sold long beyond their 
useful life. Maybe as a result of some of the reasons listed by Kevin. 
(They were still on sale a couple of years ago and may still be 
available from the OCA.)
