It looked like it but it did not rain on Sir James's party again. 12 OBC members showed up to ride but only 11 went. Sir James watched as a new to James OBC member arrived by car with bike on top. Member was dressed in cycling shorts and sandals. Member removed bike from roof of car and then opened trunk. Member then put bike back on top of car, closed trunk and came over to say hello. Member said that he had did OBC time trials before and would have no problem . Member said he would pass this time, he forgot his cycling shoes.
The other 11 cyclist formed one group and did a 55 Km route that took them to Carlsbad Springs, then South on Boundary Rd. to Mitch Owen, East to Farmer's Way, North to Leitrim Rd., West to Conroy Road and back to Billings Bridge. It was a nice ride with a bit of a tailwind on the return trip. John Twemlow set himself a rather brisk pace again tonight and was able to stay with the group and was not last to finish. The only incident for the night happened on Davidson Road to Sir James who was riding with the pack and enjoying the ride when a bee or wasp decided to pass through the air vents on the top of Sir James's Sub Six helmet and in the process gave James a rather nasty string on the top of his head. Sir James is walking a little taller but expects to return to normal height in a day or two.
