You are twisting the facts. I asked the board if any member felt I had
mishandled my portfolio, I would offer my resignation. No one did. However,
I was not convinced the entire board felt that way beforehand. It had
nothing to do with the link. In fact, I said this BEFORE Bob Hicks made his
motion, which was not on the agenda and was a complete surprise to me. How
could I possibly utter a 'threat' as you call it, to force the board to
'stick together' on something I did not even know was going to happen? You
should get the facts straight before suggesting I was attempting to
manipulate the board. Secondly, most of the board members are completely in
the dark about the petition. Do you really think the social and touring
directors, for example, are going to be up to speed on it when you have made
no effort whatsoever to communicate it in a proper way to the board? We have
a secretary, he sets the agenda, that is the process the board uses to deal
with Club business - which you evidently have little respect for - you would
rather criticize the board here.

<snip>

This is all your opinion. You do not have all the facts, and therefore your
judgements are flawed.
I find it odd that not one single person has had the common courtesy to
phone me to discuss this, nor to voice their opinions directly at a board
meeting. Why is that? What are you afraid of? We can only conclude that if
people cannot take the time to communicate effectively with the board, then
it really does not warrant our attention. I have no idea where the average
members stand other than the postings to this list and the few to whom I
have spoken. Don't expect me to come to you to see your petition. I have
enough to do. Secondly, you have completely ignored the impact this matter
has on the newsletter. In case you hadn't noticed, the results are also
published in the newsletter. If I was not under an obligation to publish
them, then this never would have been an issue. We'd have a link pointing to
Celia's site from day 1 and the Club would not have any TT results on its
own site.

I resent your implication that board members are pursuing our own personal
agendas. You have no idea what it is like being on the board. We have a
great deal of things on our minds and almost 1,000 members to look after. My
agenda is to achive the goals stated in the OBC Annual Plan - to publish
newsletters. I also welcome criticisms, provided it is polite, and specific,
and I will do my best to fix it. If that is not good enough, then the
membership can find themselves a new newsletter editor.

Notwithstanding your hurtful postings, I can think of no valid reason to not
establish a link to Celia's site. The board will be discussing it again at
the next meeting.
