*PLURAL+ **O**rganizers Call on World's Youth to Participate in* *the **Second **Youth **Video Festival On Migration** and **Diversity* * * Building on the success of last year's launch of PLURAL+, the youth-produced video festival on migration, diversity and social inclusion, the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) are again inviting the world's youth to create and submit dynamic and forward thinking videos focusing on the issues of PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival. PLURAL + 2009 festival proved to be a successful platform for young people to express themselves on key migration and diversity issues and reinforced the UNAOC and IOM's belief that youth are powerful and creative agents of social change in the world. Young people - 9 to 25 years of age - across the world are invited to submit short videos of between one to five minutes in length and share their thoughts, experiences, opinions, questions and suggestions about migration, integration, inclusiveness, identity, the human rights of migrant and related issues; highlighting their realities as well as presenting their ideas on how to develop peaceful coexistence in diverse cultural and religious contexts. The aim of PLURAL + is to ensure youth involvement on migration and diversity issues not just at community level, but also globally by facilitating the voice of youth to be heard around the world through a variety of media platforms and distribution (broadcast, video festivals, conferences, events, Internet, DVD). A prestigious international jury will select three winners in the three age categories (9-12, 13-17, 18-25), each winner will be flown to New York and honored at an awards ceremony at the Paley Center for Media later in the year. In addition, PLURAL + Partner Organizations will award exciting prizes and professional opportunities such as co-production opportunities, and gaining international exposure by inviting the awardees to present their work at film and video festivals, conferences and events around the world. PLURAL+ 2009 awarded videos are being presented throughout this year at several events sponsored by partner organizations such as BaKaFORUM, Anna Lindh Foundation Forum, Chinh India Festival , Roots and Routes Festival, COPEAM Conference, the Royal Film Commission of Jordan's Filmmakers Workshop, and Havana Film Festival's Red UNIAL. In addition, PLURAL + videos will also be broadcasted on, among others, Aljadeed TV (Lebanon), TV Futura (Brazil), RAI (Italy) and United Nations TV affiliated networks (worldwide). Videos should be submitted from 1 March through 30 June 2010.
