Proiectul dat are intenția de a regândi modul cum sunt construite blocurile de locuit și semnificația anexelor de la bloc. Încă nu e seara.. Intenția a fost aceea de a atrage tinerii (din liceu, universitate și tineri profesioniști) să gândească într-un context social și politic. În calitate de pretext ne-a servit cartierul Ciocana. Însă problemele profunde de aici sunt inegalitatea, frica, excluziunea, omenirea, societatea de consum, sărăcia, viața contemporană, condițiile de trai etc. Cum să găsim un subiect și cum să-l vizualizăm prin desen? Am realizat o publicație auto-organizată intitulată Dincolo de Ciocana, iar fiecare participant s-a ales cu o singură pagină care tratează una din teme. Toți au luat parte (studenți, alți artiști, voluntari). Fanzine-ul este o platformă de expresie simplă și democratică. În a doua parte a atelierului, unele desene au fost transpuse pe suprafața gardului metalic în Ciocana, mărimea lor și tehnica fiind adaptate situației socială și arhitecturale de la fața locului. Alegerea a fost să rămânem discreți și să evităm efectul produs de arta stradală (dimensiuni mari, zgomotoasă, dominantă). Invadarea unui spațiu (a nativilor din Ciocana) cu propria subiectivitate nu este cea mai bună tactică. Mai exact, pe strada Maria Drăgan din Ciocana. Așa că vă invităm ca sâmbătă, 27 iulie, timp de 3 ore, să aduceți tot ce aveți pe acasă și nu vă mai trebuie dintre haine, pantofi, accesorii, jucării, cosmetice etc. Noi le vom oferi pe loc oricui le dorește, fără niciun ban și nicio condiție, alta decât ca lucrurile să fie folosite mai departe. Ca de obicei, tot ce rămâne la final de FreeShop va merge la organizații de caritate, pentru a fi distribuite celor nevoiași. Ca bonus la această ediție, două locuitoare ale Ciocanei își vor pune la dispoziție mașina și dragul de cusut pentru a vă salva hainele în suferință: bluze cu găuri, nasturi căzuți, pantaloni fără margine etc. La fel, nu se cere nicio plată, câtă vreme le oferim hainelor o viață mai lungă alături de voi. It should be an over-dimensional pillow, presenting re-interpretations of Stepanova’s textile designs, but on the other hand it should function like a „carte blanche” and an open invitation for personal inscriptions by participants of the workshop. The pillow is a metaphorical object where dreams take place. It is also a symbol for comfort and cosiness. Ciocana is also often seen as a „sleeping” disctrict where people go back from work just to sleep. The intention was to put young people to draw and think (high school, university and young professionals) into a social and political context. The pretext was the Ciocana neighborhood. But the deep issues here are inequality, fear, exclusion, humanity, consume society, poorness, contemporary living, living conditions etc. How to find a topic and how to visualize it trough drawing. We produce a self-organized publication titled Beyond Ciocana and each o the participant have one page-one drawing one publication and end up having one issue of the publication. Everybody participate (students, other artists, volunteers). The Fanzine is a democratic platform and a low tech platform for expression. In the second part of the workshop some of the drawings were re-drawn on a metal wall at Ciocana, adapting size and technique to the social and architectural situation. The choice was to be discreet and escape the street art or mural attitude (big, noisy, dominant). Invading one space (native of Ciocana) with your own subjectivity is not the best tactics. We choose rather a discreet presence of some visual thinking „decorating” more or less one of the barbecue area.
