Hi,

I'm an Obsequium newbie, having just installed it over the weekend. I thought
the instructions were great, by the way. It installed very easily for
me...mostly.

There is one area where I'm having some difficulty finding information and it
has to do with CD changer support.

I have a 4x8 IDE CDchanger in my Linux machine and when I need to mount one of
the discs, I usually run a "eject -c <slot#>; mount /dev/cdrom" and it just
works. The trouble is, I have no idea how the CDChanger/VolumeManager in obs
is supposed to work.

I assumed that I could load my CDs full of mp3s (and an appropriate Volume file
on the CD) into the CD changer, modify devices.conf so that /mnt/cdrom was
defined as a CD_CHANGER_4, mount each CD and run AddFiles.pl to fill the
database.

The database was filled accordingly, so I know that works, and it is picking up
the correct volume label. However, the obs.log is reporting that obs cannot
find the appropriate volume when it picks a song from the database that is on
one of the CDs, apparently because it can't mount the CDs since there is no
disc activity on the CD drive once obs starts up.

I have an additional volume on the hard drive (/mnt/mp3) that contains about 20
mp3 files that were submitted using SubmitTracks.pl, and obs has no problem
finding and playing those files, so that part of obs is working.

I tried looking for answers in the source code for the CDchanger and
VolumeManager, but C++ looks like gibberish to me.

So how is the CD Changer support supposed to work? What am I missing? Other
than the CD changer problem, obs looks *incredible*! I'll be the envy of all
my geek friends if I can pull this off!

Thanks,

Eric
