kewl. One question I have. How much does something like that cost? Or do you just have to wait for some company to do a clear out? I wanted to get one of those 20x2 LCD displays they often have connected to the newer PC based tills (via a 9pin comm port), but they seemed to be 150 quid+ in the few places I could find that actually sell them. > Well, there is one question: If I package up this crazy bunch of > scripts, would anyone actually be interested in using them? I wrote a much simpler (but more messy) script to get the current track, album and artist out of the DB, which I then used in the program arg to starwars and phosphor from the xscreensaver collection. The only problem is that these programs, don't seem to kill off their children before dying themselves, so I would generally end up with an ever growing number of processes. I tried to have a look at the xscreensaver source, but got horribly lost very quickly. Incidently I tried Titles.pl with phosphor, and it didn't seem to produce any output. I'm not sure why as it works at a tty. Anyway, I'm sure that there are people who would find some use for it.
