To have the gate locked from the inside it is suggested that:

1. Whatever the gate should be straightened first as it is poorly
twisted / bent,
2. Easiest is to drill holes in the plates of the drop bar at the
bottom for the padlock,
3. Secondly to welt a pad bolt on the inside of the gate,
4. Lastly to weld short chains on the inside but preventing to use
them from the outside.

Ian Mackie agrees and told me that the municipal workers take or steal
pad locks.

Has anybody the strength and portable drill + welder to do the job or
do we ask the municipality?

Frank
