I had to leave the police braai at 18.00 last night (Friday 19th) to
pick up my brother-in-law at the airport. On arriving back at about
19.00 we found the front window of his Honda, parked outside our
house, had been smashed and his new GPS stolen. The car had been there
half an hour - my daughter from Durban not yet streetwise or familiar
enough with Obs to know that you don't leave anything valuable in a
car, even if you expect to leave again within minutes. Thanks to Cont.
Luzipho and his partner for leaving the braai, coming round, taking
statements, and to the Sector 1 team who came around in the morning to
complete the process, and called in forensics. Some prints were lifted
from the car, so we hope to eventually catch up with the criminals.
Not the best way to start you Xmas holiday in Cape Town. Cost of
replacing the window: R2000.
