We are doing our best to get the Woodstock Police to agree to carry a portable radio in the Sector 1 vehicle. (We have had to give up on the idea of installing a mobile radio in the Sector vehicle. We have been told that they won't allow this, but that there is' no problem' with a portable radio - but there has been some backtracking even on this.) A radio in the patrol car seems the obvious solution, it works elsewhere, and there is no reason why it can't work here. It is very frustrating, but I am sure that in the end we will get the necessary cooperation. Anyone interested should take a look the Tamboorskloof Neighbourhood Watch (TBK) website and see what they say about their radio network and their level of cooperation with SAPS. Go to http://www.tbkwatch.com/RadioInfo.aspx . In the meantime can people who experience difficulty getting through on the radio to Woodstock police please report this to Trevor and to officer in charge of the shift at Woodstock Police station (082 302 5436). This would be more helpful than putting a message on the google group. Rob
