My point is that some security issues are openly discussed especially after
an armed robbery or a shooting incident in the area. certain details are
revealed and layed bare, which in some cases i feel should perhaps have been
kept under wraps.

it is ridiculous to assume that a secret site is required and one does not
need to be a rocket scientist to know that the OBSNW net group is a general
public domain, but it does not mean that we should excercise carte blanche
when using this forum to discuss criminal activity in our neighbourhood.
i am all for sharing info and knowledge, but we should be able to
distinguish

Hi,

This isn't a secret organisation and never will be. There is very
little discussed on this group that the criminals don't already
know... Even hinting at the suggestion that we screen members begs
belief... What are we going to ask them? 'Are you a criminal?'... 'Are
you a resident because nobody who lived in obs ever broke the law?'.

This is a public forum on the internet, even non members can read the
archives. So everyone from the car thief down the road to Osama Bin
Laden could be reading it and we should probably assume IS reading it.

So don't send out an email about the back door you never lock or where
you hide your spare key.

In the same light, hi criminals, if you're out there... We are going
to catch you. That is all.

j.
