It looks like this is the start of this type of attempted petrol theft in Obs. Be warned, I reported this months ago. Please check your fuel gauge when turning the ignition on and pump your footbrake to check you have brakes before releasing the handbrake. The footbreak operates hydraulically with brake fluid and the brake will be "pap" when applied, if your brake hoses have been cut. The handbrake is connected with cables. Also look out for persons carrying hosepipes and jerrycans as they will be on the lookout for vehicles with petrol caps that do not lock, and if you see some-one underneath a motor vehicle, they may not be fixing their vehicle, but could very well be trying to cut the fuel line or puncture the tank with a hammer and a spike. Check your vehicle for loose or missing wheelnuts as well. Advice to owners of bakkies with tarpaulins or tonneau covers is to remove them, because I had mine stolen off the back of my truck a few days ago. Take care out there, it's a wild world. Brian Gray.
