I don't think the concern that this isn't crime-related is petty at all; on the other hand, I receive an email digest in my inbox every day of messages & responses posted at ONW Newsgroup, & it's easy at a glance to see what's of interest to me & what's not. Today it was:
* Park opposite Kwik spar - 1 messages, 1 author http://groups.google.com/group/obsnw/t/94dfc3b162c06b3e?hl=en * Brake fluid pipe cut on VW Golf, Bristol Rd, 17/18 March - 2 messages, 2 authors http://groups.google.com/group/obsnw/t/5b0e283cf66a410b?hl=en Quite clear, so what's the problem? In fact, if I hadn't heard about what was going on at the park opposite the Spar here, it would've been a mystery to me. It seems very few people were informed beforehand, or consulted. This newsgroup has the furthest reach in the neighbourhood, it seems - maybe we should expand its scope, & while still making crime the obvious focus, use it to communicate other news of general interest / concern?
