At around 6 pm this evening, my neighbour, a young university student and friend, rang my bell, in tears, having just been robbed at knifepoint in front of her house. Three coloured guys in a new model Golf (not sure what type),deep grey. She spotted them while walking from the station. They passed her by and went around the block , entering Alfred str from Lwr -Wrensch . One jumped out and held a knife to her side -threatening to stab her if she did not give him her cellphone. She gave them her bag and they sped off. There was no-one in the street witnessing this.
I called all the cell no. of the Police and got only voicemail or no answer. Called the Police station and was told its because the are changing shifts. They sent a police van about an hour and a half later to take a statement. These guys are obviously practiced at scoping out the area, picking a victim and knowing their way around the Obs streets and they know that police change shifts ate 6 pm- so are highly unlikely to be around. How long before we have 24 hr patrol?
