In 2006, shortly after the ONW started connecting neighbours a gang of three men, in SAPS uniforms robbed a business in LMR and raped one of the employees. Chris Bateman, alerted his daughter and domestic worker to watch out for these men. Sometime later on the same day they tried to gain access to his property. They weren't given access. Instead the SAPS were called. Shortly after this incident neighbours in the area set up the Oxford Road and Surrounds Dedicated bicycle patrol, an initiative lead by Chris. Although the gang was apprehended eventually this modus operandi appears to in use in the area, again. Beware of these men. Hi, Last night, Monday 13th April, at 02h30 AM, 2 men dressed in full police uniform tried to gain access to 119 Rochester Road. The students renting the house naievely gave them entry at the locked driveway gate, then gave them entry into the secure courtyard at the back of the house. Thankfully one of them was bright enough to then ask them to produce a warrent. They couldn't provide one, were denide further access and left after some persuasion. I feel sick with the thought that anything could have happened to them. I contacted Woodstock Police Station this morning to check, and nobody could give me any info related to the incident. PLEASE BEWARE.........THE BADDIES ARE IMPERSONATING THE POLICE AGAIN. DO NOT LET ANYONE INTO YOUR HOUSE! CHECK IT OUT WITH THE AUTHORITIES FIRST. CALL ONE OF THE RESPONSE VEHICLES IMMEDIATELY.
