You have every right to ask a police officer for his/her ID. There are occaisons when they do not need a warrant, but you can still insist on them producing a police ID. We need to trust the REAL police, but at the same time do not get duped by impersonators. This can and does happen, as there have been several cases up north where criminals have impersonated police. Another recommendation would be to get to know who our local police are and there is no better way than to attend the next braai we hold for Sector One police. See you there!
