Some time early last week, someone tried to steal petrol from my car (Toyota Tazz) parked in Oxford Rd. I discovered this when I went to the garage to get petrol and the attendant showed me that the petrol cap was missing. The lock on the covering flap had been broken. The thieves must have intended siphoning petrol, but the tank was only about a quarter full and they were obviously not successful. I have had to replace the petrol cap which cost R272 and the garage is trying to get a new lock for the flap. The thieves may have been disturbed by the Oxford Rd bicycle patrol. Examine your cars before you drive - wheels, petrols flaps etc etc. Sandy Pienaar 41 Oxford Rd
