On Sunday at around lunchtime, someone stole the brass tap from a pipe in my yard at 48 Oxford Road leaving it to flood the front yard. I had just gone out and I was alerted by ADT calling to tell me there was a deluge from my front yard into the street. Fortunately a neighbour was able help before I could get home and he located and closed the stopcock.
My front yard was vulnerable because I've had building work in front and there are no railings at the moment. The only object of any value in the rubble was that tap but clearly enough to tempt some opportunist. Now resealed with plastic.
