Dear Bev and Trevor, I feel this has escalated out of control. Many mails speculating on the possibilities of a particular topic can be distracting and sometimes, when I am trying to get through my mail, it can make me feel pressured, especially when I wade through a host of one-liners. However, I think we can all deal with it. And those people who take the trouble to contribute to the site and contribute to the well-being of the neighbourhood should not simply run away when someone shows a bit of irritation. Trevor makes very valuable contributions to this neighbourhood and has a lot to deal with. He, because of his committments has to read everything that comes through. Bev, you are a also a deeply committed person to our spot and extremely valuable, but you do send out a lot of mail. Is there a middle-ground that can be found here? Lets not cut noses to spite faces. We are a diverse communitiy with lots going on and we experience a lot of stress because of crime and so on. A bit of spite and nit-picking is going to happen from time to time. But I would rather live here, with you lot, than anywhere else.
Warm regards and many thanks, Julia ----- Original Message ----- From: Bev Pettit To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, August 06, 2009 5:58 PM Subject: [obsnw] Re: Ex-nightclub boss shot dead Sorry Trevor. I am not following what you are saying..... Is there a hard and fast rule on this site that contributors may not speculate on issues ? I'm not going to pursue the thread here because I can't decipher it too well. However.... But I'm beginning to think that the level of nit-picking, spite and malice on this site is pathetic and this is the first time I have spoken out about it. I don't always understand what folk are saying but I don't berate them for it......or act as the conscience of others. However people, you're free to vote. Tell me to leave the site and I will - no prob. Tell me to stay and I will - no prob. I see the throng closing in on me. Go for it people. It's all yours...... Guess what? Sometimes things are exactly as they appear. Thanks for making me laugh with the following understatement: ".... being at the scene of a burglary, wearing a balaclava and and attacking the security officer in an attempt to escape, seem to indicate that he was up to no good" lol ... you think so? How do you know he wasn't attending a costume party and maybe got the wrong house? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Observatory Neighbourhood watch" group.
