I am gutted for this poor dog, but I am also so relieved this post has come up.
Last night I was walking my dogs on the field in front of Black River Park, when they starting playing with the cutest puppy. Then it's owner came out of the bushes and I had a long chat with her. The puppy is 2 months old, looks like a husky come alsation or similar cross breed - beautiful. The owner was WASTED and admitted to me that they are sleeping rough in the apartments going up at the end of Ossian Rd. Apparently she knows one of the workers and he lets her in. She also told me that she sits outside Spar begging for money so she can buy food for her puppy. But she was so drunk, she stank of booze and couldn't stand up particularly straight. 1 - does anyone know who the contractor is at this site? Surely they don't want people sleeping there are night? 2 - what does one do about a situation like this - she clearly loves the pup, but I don't think she's buying herself food, never mind the dog..
