Just to say that my experiences of Vetus Schola - both when I have been out
patrolling at night and when not patrolling - have been very positive.
I don't like to think about having to patrol on foot for 12 hours in our
heat.
(Nor in Winter's rain.....)
And even during an 8-hour working day (....never mind a 12-hour shift) I
needed odd breaks to help me through the day.

So overall......my thanks to all VS patrollers (those on foot and those in
cars).
I have found you all to be pretty efficient and very willing to help.
And the difference to Observatory is nigh unbelievable.
And it has to take courage to confront the many drug dealers in our
area.....

Perhaps the 2-way radio interaction could be given a little attention ?
It happens at times that some VS users of the ONW radio are a little quick
with their use of the Press-to-talk button which results in a "clipping off"
of part or at times a lot of their 2-way communication.

It would be helpful (as well) if - when a VS patroller is calling for the
SAPS or an ONW member to respond - s/he were to give out his/her own call
sign so that other radio-users know who is calling for a
response....................otherwise things can become a bit confusing.....

Other than that........many thanks Vetus Schola.
I find you folk very willing to help us when we need you......

Bev
