While I was out between 2.30pm and 4.30pm today, a horse and cart stopped outside my house in Scott Road and the occupants tried to steal our front gate and all the iron latticework on the stoep. They succeeded only in breaking the gate and the latticework and stealing a 30cm length of white-painted iron from the gate, before urinating on the security gate and leaving. I know it was a horse and cart because my neighbours on either side saw them and their dogs went berserk. If anybody could keep an eye out then perhaps I can retrieve the missing chunk of my gate at least.
