Yes, mine are black with red buttons, so that explains my experience. The
door was probably installed in the early 90's.

Guys

As an Installer of remote gates and entry systems I can confirm the
following:

1. To comply with ICASA and current Insurance requirements YOU MUST
have a Rolling Code Format on any automated entry systems on your
premises.

What's a Rolling Code Format: It's a remote transceiver that
effectively "scrambles" its code every time you use it therefore
making it virtually impossible to duplicate or totally impossible to
have the same frequency as a neighbour.

How do you know if your system is a Rolling Code System??

Check the back of your keyfob, it should have the ICASA Approved
Symbol on it.

It is therefore not lawful or wise to be still using the old format
(internal dipswitch) remote controls, usually identifiable because it
has a BLACK casing and RED Button.

The new systems have mainly GREY or BLUE cases with up to 6 coloured
buttons on.

Hope this helps.

Rich
