Yes, SAPS mentioned at the Joints meeting this morning that they had today arrested 6 Salt River people in Trill Road - for robbery I think.
The other very good news is that we have now got our own Sector Commander again, Constable Pienaar 082 302 5436 and [email protected]. He is ably assisted by Constable Barrie, fresh back from leave. They have already made some arrests. In response to your comment: "One has to hope that the message might get through that Obs is not a good place to break the law, but on current evidence we have some way to go." I feel the need to say that criminal activity seems to be increasing again in Obs. Also, I am noticing ( during the day) a greater 'presence' of a rougher element back in the red zone. By now, criminal opportunists who have come over from Salt River and elsewhere are surely aware that Obs is seriously working on beating crime.......and I've a hunch that this could be some sort of backlash for our vigilance(?). These folk might also be biding their time.........waiting, perhaps, for Vetus Schola to settle in and relax a bit...... ?
