A long long time ago, when I was young, I knew of a group who used to
have hitch-hike challenges. The aim of the game was to leave Cape Town
at an agreed time, the first to arrive at the destination (hitching
only) got free accommodation and booze for the weekend. Anthony won by
covering himself from head to toe in bandages liberally sprinkled with
tomatoe sauce, and wobbling down the N2 on crutches. He was picked up
before the cooling towers and delivered to the door of his
destination, thus winning the prize.
Tout ca change.
