Good evening Obs, Recently, I have had some experiences that may provide some sage advice. My domestic worker decided to terminate her services and move out of Cape Town. I paid her up to the end of the month and generously gave her an additional month's pay as a bonus. Her response was most uncalled for. As a result, I have decided to change all the locks in order to ensure that my home is not invaded in my absence or during my deserved rest at night. Perhaps, if your domestic leaves your employ, you may consider changing your locks.
Secondly, my 88 year old father is house-sitting for my sister, who is on holiday. I received a phone call from his girlfriend (yes, he has a girlfriend at 88, I am proud we share the same genes) who said he had a fainting spell whilst out shopping. To cut a long story short, I took care of the situation and took them both home, after a check-up by a doctor, to find that they had left a pot of stew boiling on the stove, when they went out. Please folks, do not go out and leave a stove, or heater, or fire unattended, whilst away, albeit even for a short while. Your home could go up in flames, and you could be in a stew.
