At around 0450 on Wed, 16-3-2011, VS calls repeatedly for SAPS assistance on 2-way comms, without luck. Aware of the difficulty, I phone Woodstock and a van is dispatched to VS office. Prompt response from Const Magulani. Many thanks. - - - - - - - - - -
Just before midnight (15-3-2011) CD19 spots a chap (allegedly Congolese - name witheld) in Roman Rd whom they feel uneasy about as he hasn’t been seen in the area before. He’s invited to sleep in VS anteroom for the night. On his departure just before 0500 he is searched as a precautionary measure. The reason for the search hinges on a bag of goods which VS ‘stores’ for an Observatory vendor. The gent who has partaken of VS’s hospitality is found with sundry stolen goods tied to his body with some sort of cord…………..and the Vendor’s bag is minus sundry items. Hats, wallets, etc. At something to 0600, the visiting gent is taken off to Woodstock SAPS. Photos sent to OBSID.
