*GOOD NEWS *

*BLACK RENAULT CLIO RECOVERED* !

On Monday SAPS Diepriver under Warrant Officer Chetty recovered the 'black
Renault Clio" which was sought in the southern suburbs for a spate of
robberies and other crimes. 3 arrests have been made, including the well
known Ringuest have been detained. Both the car and the suspects have been
thoroughly scrutinized by detectives and forensics.

*CRIME UPDATE :
*Since my last News Flash 3 days ago another two incidents have occurred in
the RCID area, both in Bonair Road.

*COMMON THEFT : 16th MAY at 17h32 : BONAIR ROAD
*Suspect gained access by jumping over a wall and a hosepipe and gas bottle
were stolen.

*HOUSEBREAKING & THEFT : 16th MAY at 19h21: BONAIR ROAD
*A hand bag, containing money, credit cards, and a license were reported
stolen when a suspect gained access via a window.

Looking back on the crimes committed this month (4 x common thefts, 3
housebreakings and 1 trespassing) it is noted that incidents of "nasty"
crime has decreased but the surge of "poverty driven" crime is very
troubling i.e. gas bottles, hosepipe, dirt bins and toilet (from vacant
plot) have been stolen. This emphasises the fact that suspects are on foot
and on the look out for opportunities to commit a burglary. Too often, as
is the case in the RCID at the moment, we come across incidents that could
have been *PREVENTED* if alarms had been activated, windows and doors had
been closed or valuables NOT left in your vehicle. The number
of gates and garage doors reported being LEFT OPEN by the ADT patrol
officers have increased significantly lately

*AS SOON AS WE DROP OUR GUARD* *AN INCIDENT WILL OCCUR AS WE
ARE CONSTANTLY BEING WATCHED BY THE CRIMINALS*

*IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU !*

*Your security is only as strong as your weakest link.*

*REPORT SUSPICIOUS CARS IN THE AREA* - take note of the colour and
registration number and who is in or around the car.

*REPORT SUSPICIOUS PEOPLE IN THE AREA* - try to notice any distinctive
features and what they were wearing
