* On Wednesday, last week, there was an armed hold up at 4:30pm on the corner of Nuttal and Clifton Terrace. A white Golf containing 2 black males asking for directions pulled up next to an employee of Obs Café. When she came close they put a gun to her head and took her bag.
* At about 22h30 on Friday guests staying at a student lodge were held up at gun point in Arnold Street. * Our Little Mowbray neighbours also have their problems. I read: "Armed robberies are once again rearing their ugly head in our precinct - we had three last week (all in Little Mowbray), compared to none the previous year. Two of the reported incidents were cellphones taken at knife-point - one near the Fat Cactus and another further up in Klipfontein Road. The third was in King's Road on Saturday, when two students were help up at gunpoint by a gang of four men. To add to the woes, there was major armed robbery this morning (Monday) outside the FNB, where a man was robbed of more than R60 000 by an armed gang who escaped in a blue sedan, thought to be an Opel Astra. There has also been a spike in the number of car thefts - three reported during the week - but the good news that two men thought to be involved have been arrested and this will, hopefully, end their spree." We have not had any further descriptions or information. WARNING I suggest everybody keeps clear of a white Golf with 2 black males. If you are asked for directions do not go close.
