Has anyone any idea who the aggressive and abusive dog owner involved in the incident described below might be?
Dear David, I wish to report a very disturbing incident to you from last night when I was out walking my dog. It happened at approximately 21.00hrs in Clifton Terrace, outside Observatory Junior School. My dog was attacked by another dog which its owner had off the lead. When he came to retrieve his dog I informed him that it is an offence to not have a dog on a lead and that it was irresponsible. (This is now the third time my dog has been attacked because of owners letting their dogs run free in Observatory). The man became very abusive and verbally aggressive, swearing repeatedly and making threats; telling me I better not show my face in the area again or I will see what will happen. He pursued me from Clifton Terrace into Florence Avenue continuing with his verbal abuse and threats. I just kept walking so I have no idea where he lives. He is a stocky white male middle-aged and was wearing some kind of dark blue rugby club top. The dog was medium to large and was white and with black and grey markings. As I didn't see where he went or where he lives I am not able to report the incident to the police, but because of his threats felt it important to log this information with you. If you have any advice including whether there is any point reporting the incident to SAPS it would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps some might think I was foolish to speak up, but I am really fed up of my dog being attacked because some residents in Observatory do not do the responsible thing and keep their dogs on a leash when in a public area.
