Good arrest made by members**** ** ** *IMMEDIATE MEDIA RELEASE* All Media **** * * *JULY 2011/07/14. * *Media Statement by the Station Commissioner , Woodstock, Area West Metropole, Western Cape , Sergeant Hilton Malila .* ** ** *TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY AND THEFT* * * Last night ( Wednesday 2011-07-13) at approximately 23:30 , Constable Qubeka of the Woodstock police arrested two men age 21 and 27 years old in Plein street , for being in possession of stolen motor vehicle parts .**** The arrest follows during scheduled crime prevention patrols , when a member of the community notified the police officers about two men that stole parts from a penal beater situated in Aberdeen street . The officers immediately followed up the information, and spotted two men pushing trolleys down Plein street in the direction of Albert road . During an approached of the police , the two men attempted to run away , but was apprehended on the spot . The police officers recovered four (4) car wheels, two car doors , bumpers and other stolen car parts in their possession.**** According to the witness , the suspects cut the electric wire at the penal beaters business , and jumped over the wall and stole all the items found in their possession .**** The estimated recovery value is +- R5000-00.**** The two suspects currently in police custody , are due to appear in the Cape Town magistrates’ court on Monday (2011-07-18) on charges of Theft and Possession of stolen property .**** The Woodstock police want to thank the community member who gave the information to the police officers , that led to the arrest of two criminals. We also urge other members of the community to join hands with the police in the fight against crime .
