A positive case of, seeing the fleeing off of two suspects of four stolen
car batteries, was conveyed va the Woodstock Police Joints, a meeting with
the various security companies and CID’s which patrol in the Woodstock
Precinct areas with SAPS.

This morning at around 4 am, on Queens Road Woodstock, a resident heard some
noise outside their bedroom window. She peeped out the window to find
someone fiddling from underneath their car, presumably to open the bonnet in
order to steal the car battery. SAPS was alerted but, before they arrived,
the two colored male perpetrators fled off in a hurry in what looked
like a*black VW Golf (presumably the Mk1 City Golf type) and noticed
the silver hub
caps* on the wheels. It may very well have been a dark blue Golf, but no
registration number was obtained. However, four batteries were left behind
on the pavement, removed and recorded by SAPS, and returned to the rightful
owners later this morning.

If a vehicle fitting this description is seen as suspicious movements etc,
kindly try and get a registration number and report the incident or
situation directly to Woodstock SAPS 021 442 3117, for attention Sergeant
Andreas who is that area’s Sector Manager.

Also remember the blue *City Golf Mk1 with a white hood CA 58802* (number
plates not registered), also a positive sighting on Cook Street Obs on 6
July re a stolen battery, also seen as suspect vehicle in Bergvliet areas by
BKM neighbourhood watch.
