On Sunday morning 3am I was woken by a scratching sound in Kimberley Road, and looked out to see someone fiddling with my neighbour's car. I called Vetus Schola and lay listening for the next few minutes to the sounds of approaching patrollers, a spat, frantic running, scuffling, and eventually the guards knocking on my gate to find out to whom they should hand over the valuables they found on the suspects - apparently two of them. One of the cars had its rear window smashed. The guards seemed to have had some help from Vetus Schola's armed response division. They were professional, courteous and efficient. Just to help break down the stereotype, I should mention that the one suspect I saw was white and clean shaven, perhaps a schoolboy.
