I suppose the only "lucky" thing is that they stole your meter and you won't be billed for all that wasted water! And since the meter is the councils property situated on council land you should not be billed for that either.
Of course the inconvenience overshadows all that! Let us know hoe long it took the council to restore connection or if you had to pay Hawkes and Findlay a visit for a couple of connex connectors and a length of polycop pipe for a DIY reconnection!
