Hi all, In regards to the comments, please note some feedback from OBSID;
We were aware that Vetus Schola Armed Response (VSAR) were considering a buy out due to running the VSAR operation at a deficit. The VSAR has been very successful in other areas in Cape Town, but has not had the same success in Obs. VS had been in talks about this, but only confirmed it yesterday. OBSID and the ONW supported the VSAR initiative, as the effort would provide a more close-knit operation through-out Obs. However, the new operators (Premier) met with OBSID late yesterday, and will be actively involved in regular liaisons with OBSID and the ONW. Thus, OBSID do not expect this to affect our operations with Vetus Schola Protection Services under the OBSID contract. Also noting that the Observatory Armed Response could do with this facelift, and that there have been positive comments about Premier. The new service provider will attend this evening's Community Police Sub Forum meeting - which is a meeting between the OBSID, ONW, SAPS and security service providers. Vetus Schola will also respond to your questions on this forum and should a meeting for information be requested, I am certain they would oblige.
