Hi Alan & Aparna
Your concern is also well noted, and I head to the caution.
Had the warning said 'ignore the child in distress' I would most certainly
have deleted the email without hesitation.
It does note though, " take the child not to the address given - but to the
Police Station.
Had the Colonel I spoken to said this does not happen, never, impossible,
wrong etc I would have dropped it.

I think the other reason why I thought to post the "warning' was that
on Friday 25 November, I was privileged to attend the launch of '16 Days of
Activism of abuse against Women and Children'. I accompanied Colonel Ntsezo
and his senior Woodstock Police Officers, the function as was held at the
SAPS Training Academy in Phillipi. A prestigious event, of approximately
800 guest and distinguished speakers and dignitaries, song items, show of
the elite Task Forces of the various SAPS Operational departments, after a
finger luncheon we were held in captivity at the Police stadium spell bound
by the a testimony and performances i.e children and police women
showing beautiful photos of a number of children all of which and others
are still missing with no trace whatsoever, SAPS men and women members re
the Police Band, Choir, precision display of school cadets, most of it
still vivid to me.

I apologise for folk that felt threatened by the placing of the email, but
I know that I would swallow hard if a child, man or women, boy or girl here
in Observatory were irreparably hurt or maimed should I not have posted the
item of which I revised somewhat desensitized the email before sending. As
it were, the first message I heard on my ONW radio in switching it on on
Saturday morning just after 7 am was of message from the VS control room of
a women that was apparently raped, after SAPS arrested the assailant, the
matter turned out to be assault, the women did not want to open a case,
the matter was dropped.

Respectfully yours
James
